Halifax Harbour Sighting: 'Hop Mess Monster'
The one and only 'Hop Mess Monster' aka 'Messie' has been spotted near the Hart and Thistle on the Halifax waterfront!
Not to be messed with, 'Messie' as she is affectionately known to locals is a monstrosity of a Triple IPA, the likes of which this country has never seen. A real Imperial Pale Ale brewed with copious amounts of hops and malts clocking in at a deliciously insane 533 calculated IBU's and 11.0% ABV.
We're fully expecting her to rear her ugly head near the middle of May 2010 so stay tuned. Updates to follow.....

'Double Citra SMaSH' - DIPA
Born on April 20th 2010
'Double Citra SMaSH' DIPA is the latest to join our SMaSH beer series and is coming to the taps Tuesday April 20th 2010 at 5:00pm just in time for Hoppy Tuesday (save $2 per glass on our handcrafted brews every Tuesday).
This time our Single Malt and Single Hop beer is brewed with all Citra hops and Canadian Pale Ale malt. It's mash-hopped, 1st-wort-hopped and dry-hopped with massive amounts of the new Citra cultivar (see specs below) and is calculated to 131 IBU's. Reminiscent of 5-alive on 'roids you're all gonna want to get down to the pub to try it on for size before it disappears.

'Fèileadh Air Teine' - SOS
Born on April 5th 2010
On tap Monday April 5th 2010 we have 'Fèileadh Air Teine' (Faila Err Chen-nuh ) [Gaelic for 'Kilt On Fire'] - Scottish Oatmeal Stout.
Brewed with peat-smoked Scottish distillers malt, beechwood-smoked malt and copious amounts of oatmeal it's black, thick, smokey and nutritious like a proper Scottish breakfast. If it's no oatmeal, it's crrrrrap!
