Hoptacular - IIPA

Born on April 21st 2011

The Insanity Sauce Series [ISS] begins. Right here, right now.

Hoptacular double India Pale Ale launches Thursday April 21st @ high noon in a spectacular display of fiery hop-goodness-in-a-glass. My first version of insanity sauce is sure to satisfy like a volcano of hops in your mouth. Hopped at a rate of 7.8 lbs per barrel with calculated theoretical international bittering units of 425 and a mind-numbing 8.6% ABV, Hoptacular IIPA might just alter life as you know it forever. The beer is all about balance.

Enjoy.

Vital Stats:
Gravity - 18.5P/1.076
IBUs ~ 100+ (425 calculated)
Hop Rate – 7.8 lbs/bbl
ABV - 8.6 %
Hops -  Summit, Newport, Chinook, Columbus
Colour ~ 7.3 SRM
Malts - Pale Ale, Carastan, Dextrin, Melanoidin

Wow! A calculated 425 IBU is sure to make you pucker ;)

Now for the obvious question…why? Is it because you can?

Sure to make you pucker? -About as much as any other medium-bodied ~ 100 IBU beer I suppose.

Here's an obvious question for you to chew on.... -Why so many peppers in Szechuan cuisine?

-Hops are delicious.

Have you ever noticed that (on forums) "Anonymous" and "Dumbfuck" are used interchangeably?

I'll be *quaffing* some of this sucker tomorrow night. Of course.
